About the Role
North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Intensive Rehabilitation & Therapy Service. This role supports winter pressures and focuses on delivering high-quality community rehabilitation, including independent assessment, treatment and discharge planning for patients with complex needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake independent assessment, treatment and discharge planning for patients within the community rehabilitation team.
- Use recognised outcome measures and sound clinical reasoning to guide treatment planning.
- Manage and prioritise your own caseload confidently and autonomously.
- Deliver patient-centred rehabilitation interventions to support recovery and independence.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and timely discharges.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust and HCPC standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Post-qualification experience within the NHS.
- Experience working in community and/or rehabilitation settings (preferred).
- Strong clinical reasoning and caseload management skills.
- Confidence working independently in a community environment.
- Car driver essential due to community-based role.
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday.
- Shift pattern: 08:30 – 16:30.
- Part-time working considered (minimum 3 days / 22.5 hours), dependent on experience.
- Agile working arrangements in place.
