About the Role
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Neuro / Stroke team. This short-term locum role requires an immediate start and involves supporting acute neurological and stroke patients, with a strong focus on discharge planning and early rehabilitation.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide specialist occupational therapy intervention to acute neuro and stroke patients.
- Undertake comprehensive functional assessments and develop personalised rehabilitation plans.
- Lead and support effective, safe discharge planning within an acute hospital setting.
- Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
- Apply clinical reasoning to manage a varied caseload autonomously whilst maintaining accurate documentation.
- Contribute to early mobilisation, cognitive assessment, and equipment/adaptation recommendations as needed.
Skills & Experience Required
- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in acute care settings.
- Experience in acute medicine and neurology.
- Strong discharge planning skills.
- Ability to work confidently within a fast-paced MDT environment.
- Excellent communication, assessment and organisational skills.
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday.
