The successful candidate will manage an allocated caseload independently, undertake paediatric physiotherapy assessments, including CPIP assessments, and deliver evidence-based interventions to support children’s functional abilities, participation and physical wellbeing. Working closely with the Band 7 Physiotherapist, families, education staff and multidisciplinary professionals, you will contribute to individualised treatment programmes and positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Band 7 Physiotherapist in delivering paediatric physiotherapy services within special school settings.

  • Undertake comprehensive paediatric assessments, including CPIP assessments.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based physiotherapy treatment programmes tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide physiotherapy interventions across school, home and community settings.
  • Establish appropriate goals, monitor progress and evaluate treatment outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, schools, education staff and multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams.

  • Assess and advise on postural management, specialist seating, orthotics, specialist equipment and hydrotherapy requirements.
  • Recognise and escalate complex clinical issues where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate electronic clinical records and comply with clinical governance and safeguarding requirements.
  • Contribute to clinical audit, service development and quality improvement activities.
  • Support students, assistants and less experienced staff as required.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Paediatric Physiotherapist with experience supporting children and young people with SEND, complex needs and physical disabilities. • Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, safeguarding and accurate record keeping.
