Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Details

 

An Occupational Therapy Assistant is required to support Adult Social Care services, working with people with disabilities to promote independence, choice and safety within the community. JD available on request.

 

  •  
  • Work with people with disabilities to encourage independence and informed choice within the community.
     

  • Undertake assessments using a strengths-based approach to maximise independence.
     

  • Provide effective advice and guidance arising from assessments.
     

  • Ensure the provision of appropriate equipment and minor adaptations.
     

  • Undertake carers’ assessments and reviews in line with statutory, regulatory and operational standards.
     

  • Make daily telephone contact with residents on the waiting list to ensure safety, provide reassurance and assess risk.
     

  • Prescribe simple items of equipment where appropriate following telephone assessment.
     

  • Meet strict daily performance targets, including end-of-day reporting of all contacts made.
     

  • Demonstrate robust clinical reasoning and effective risk management.
     

  • Work predominantly remotely, with occasional attendance within the borough as required.
     

  • Provide ad hoc support with critical council issues when needed.
     

  • Work under the supervision of the OT Manager and Advanced Practitioner OT.

 

Working Hours

 

36 hours per week

Monday to Friday, 09.00 – 17.30
