Occupational Therapist

Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North West London Social Services. This position involves working with adults and children with physical and learning disabilities, supporting independence through assessment, intervention, and care planning.
The Occupational Therapist will deliver a strengths-based service focused on prevention, enabling individuals to remain safely in their own homes. The role includes assessing needs, recommending equipment and adaptations, and supporting moving and handling solutions to promote independent living.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments for adults and children with physical and learning disabilities.
- Develop, review, and monitor care plans to support independence.
- Assess and recommend equipment, adaptations, and moving and handling solutions.
- Work within a strengths-based model, promoting independence and prevention.
- Commission services for equipment and adaptations provision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
- Liaise with voluntary and statutory organisations to support service delivery.
- Act as Duty Officer, providing advice and screening referrals into the service.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within
adult and/or children’s social care services. You will demonstrate strong clinical
reasoning skills and the ability to support individuals with complex needs.
You will be confident working within a multidisciplinary environment and committed to delivering
person-centred, strengths-based interventions that promote independence.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working with adults and/or children with physical and learning disabilities.
- Experience in equipment provision, adaptations, and moving and handling.
- Ability to develop and manage care plans.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
