Service: Acute / Accident & Emergency

 

Job Details:

 

  • Band 7 Occupational Therapist required to start ASAP within an acute hospital setting.
  • Work within A&E and acute services supporting early intervention and complex discharge planning.
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention for highly vulnerable patients.
  • Manage a caseload including frail and elderly patients, as well as individuals with respiratory conditions and stroke.
  • Support safe and timely discharges from the acute site.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Utilise advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

 

Skills / Experience:

 

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working in acute hospital settings, ideally within A&E or similar services.
  • Experience in discharge planning and managing complex cases.
  • Knowledge of frailty, respiratory conditions and stroke rehabilitation.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working skills.

 

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 08:00 – 16:00.
