Adults Social Worker – Ageing Well Team

Job Overview

We are recruiting an experienced and qualified Adults Social Worker to join a dedicated Ageing Well Team on a full-time locum basis. This role focuses on supporting older adults to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life through person-centred assessments, care planning and partnership working. You will work collaboratively with individuals, families and multi-disciplinary professionals to deliver high-quality social care interventions in line with relevant legislation and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of older adults requiring assessment, support and intervention.
  • Complete strengths-based assessments and develop person-centred care and support plans.
  • Undertake safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments where required.
  • Work in partnership with health professionals, community services and voluntary organisations to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Support service users to maximise their independence and access appropriate services and resources.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case records.
  • Ensure all practice complies with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation.

About You

You will be an experienced Adults Social Worker with a strong background in supporting older adults. You will be confident in managing complex cases, completing high-quality assessments and working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment. Excellent communication, organisational skills and a person-centred approach are essential.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience within Adults Social Care.
  • Experience working with older adults or within an Ageing Well, Older Persons or Community Team.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Care Act, safeguarding legislation and associated statutory guidance.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise competing demands effectively.
  • Available to commence the assignment in early July.

Contract & Salary

  • Job Type: Locum
  • Team: Ageing Well Team
  • Contract Length: 3 months
  • Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Pay Rate: £31.97 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Start Date: Early July 2026
