This varied locum role involves undertaking occupational therapy assessments for individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs and other support requirements. You will help people overcome barriers to everyday activities, promote independence and achieve positive outcomes through strengths-based, person-centred interventions.

Contribute to the wider work of the Complex OT Team, supporting coordinated and responsive services for individuals with complex needs.
About You
You will be a committed and adaptable Occupational Therapist with experience assessing individuals with complex needs within social care or a similar setting. You will be confident working with a diverse service user group, including people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and children requiring occupational therapy support.
You will take a person-centred approach, recognising individual strengths and promoting independence, personalisation and choice. Strong assessment, communication and organisational skills will help you develop appropriate interventions and work effectively with families, carers and multidisciplinary professionals.
You will also understand your safeguarding responsibilities and be committed to delivering safe, ethical and accountable occupational therapy practice. A driving licence and willingness to travel are essential, alongside the ability to work within the council’s hybrid arrangements.
