Occupational Therapist (Part-Time) – Palliative Care
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated Therapy Team within Berkshire Private Healthcare. This rewarding locum opportunity offers the chance to work across both hospice and community settings, helping individuals maximise their independence, comfort and quality of life through specialist palliative care.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy interventions, supporting patients with a range of complex needs. This role also involves travel to additional sites, making it ideal for a flexible Occupational Therapist who enjoys working across different care environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for patients receiving palliative care.
- Develop, implement and evaluate person-centred treatment programmes to maximise independence and quality of life.
- Support patients to maintain functional ability and participation in meaningful daily activities.
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions directly and through collaborative care planning.
- Work across hospice and community settings to provide seamless patient care.
- Collaborate closely with medical, nursing and therapy colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.
- Travel to other service sites as required.
About You
You will be a motivated and empathetic Occupational Therapist with excellent clinical assessment skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will be confident working independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team and committed to improving patient outcomes within a palliative care environment.
Requirements
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
- Experience delivering occupational therapy services within healthcare or community settings.
- Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and care planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.
- Ability to travel between service locations as required.
- Experience in palliative care is desirable but not essential.
Contract & Salary
- Role: Occupational Therapist (Part-Time)
- Area: Berkshire Private
- Job Type: Locum
- Contract: 5 months
- Working Hours: 24 hours per week
- Salary: Negotiable
- Travel to other sites will be required.
