Job Overview

Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist to join the Children’s Therapies service at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust – Sherwood Park School in Surrey.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Paediatric Physiotherapist to provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, advice and treatment to children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties and severe and complex medical needs within a special school environment.

The successful Physiotherapist will work closely with children and young people, families, school staff, the multidisciplinary team and wider health professionals to deliver high-quality, child-centred physiotherapy interventions and contribute to the ongoing development of the special schools physiotherapy service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a specialist physiotherapy service to children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties within a special school setting.
   

• Undertake specialist physiotherapy assessments for children with severe and complex medical needs.
   

• Plan and provide appropriate physiotherapy treatment, advice and interventions based on individual needs.
   

• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, school staff, families and the wider health team to coordinate assessment and treatment.
   

• Provide specialist physiotherapy advice and support to those involved in the care and education of children and young people.
   

• Contribute to the development of the special schools Physiotherapy Service for children.
   

• Work autonomously and without direct supervision, taking responsibility and accountability for professional actions.
   

• Ensure physiotherapy practice is delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with relevant service requirements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and confident Paediatric Physiotherapist with a strong interest in working with children and young people with complex needs. You will be able to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning and the ability to assess and treat children with severe and complex medical needs.

You will be comfortable working autonomously within a special school environment and confident collaborating with families, education staff, health professionals and multidisciplinary colleagues. Excellent communication skills and a flexible, child-centred approach are essential for this role.

Requirements

•  
• HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
   

• Relevant experience in paediatric physiotherapy.
   

• Experience working with children and young people with complex needs is desirable.
   

• Experience of specialist physiotherapy assessment, advice and treatment.
   

• Ability to work autonomously and make appropriate clinical decisions without direct supervision.
   

• Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
   

• Ability to work effectively with children, families, school staff and wider health professionals.
