Role Overview

 

Community Occupational Therapist required to start ASAP for a 3-month placement within the Community Mental Health Hub, supporting working-age adults with mental health needs.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions using the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO).
  • Deliver individual and group-based interventions to support recovery and improve quality of life.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of innovative group programmes focused on occupational participation and community inclusion.
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based, person-centred occupational therapy services to adults with mental health problems.
  • Offer expert occupational therapy advice to the Community Mental Health Team and promote OT approaches within the MDT.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team to assess and treat service users and support carers.
  • Manage complex clinical situations and advise colleagues on working with individuals with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Initiate and facilitate community-based group activities where appropriate.
  • Work alongside the Head Occupational Therapist to develop clinical and professional practice and support evidence-based initiatives, audit and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership, advice, support and clinical supervision to OT colleagues as required.
  • Develop and maintain links with statutory and non-statutory agencies, including voluntary organisations, education, training and employment services.
