Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist

 

Brief Job Overview

 

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity within East Midlands NHS. Based with United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust in Lincoln, this role supports patients within the Emergency Department and community settings, providing rapid assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning in a fast-paced clinical environment.

 

The successful candidate will work across acute and community pathways, undertaking comprehensive assessments and delivering timely interventions to support patient flow, prevent unnecessary admissions, and facilitate safe discharge from hospital. This role requires advanced clinical knowledge, strong decision-making skills, and previous NHS experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist assessment and intervention within the Emergency Department and community settings.
  • Manage a varied caseload of patients presenting with acute and complex needs.
  • Undertake functional assessments to support clinical decision-making and discharge planning.
  • Carry out community visits to assess patients within their home environment.
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation plans to maximise independence and recovery.
  • Support admission avoidance and facilitate safe, timely discharge from hospital.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across acute and community services.
  • Provide advice and recommendations regarding equipment, rehabilitation, and ongoing support needs.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with NHS and professional standards.
  • Apply advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to complex patient presentations.

 

About You

 

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with a strong background in 
acute NHS services, emergency care, rehabilitation, or community-based practice. You will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities, and making autonomous clinical decisions.

 

You will possess excellent communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills, alongside a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

 

Requirements

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Relevant UK NHS experience (essential).
  • Experience working within acute hospital, emergency care, rehabilitation, or community services.
  • Advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Experience undertaking discharge planning and community-based assessments.
  • Strong multidisciplinary team working abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced clinical environment.
