Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity within Wiltshire Social Services. Working with Swindon Borough Council, this role offers the opportunity to support adults with a wide range of physical, functional, and complex care needs, helping them to maximise independence and remain safely within their own homes and communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with Adult Social Care or community experience who enjoys working within a multidisciplinary environment. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, deliver person-centred interventions, and work collaboratively with service users, carers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with a range of care and support needs.
• Develop person-centred intervention plans that promote independence, wellbeing, and safe community living.
• Assess functional abilities, mobility, daily living skills, and environmental needs.
• Recommend appropriate equipment, assistive technology, and environmental adaptations where required.
• Support safe hospital discharge and admission avoidance where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with Social Workers, health professionals, housing services, and other partner agencies.
• Provide advice and guidance to service users, carers, and families to support long-term independence.
• Manage and prioritise a varied caseload while maintaining high standards of professional practice.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records and clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and local authority standards.
• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, strengths-based Adult Social Care services.

About You

You will be an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with experience working within Adult Social Care, community rehabilitation, or integrated services. You will possess excellent assessment, communication, and clinical reasoning skills, together with the ability to manage a varied caseload independently.

You will be committed to delivering person-centred, strengths-based interventions that enable adults to achieve the highest possible level of independence and quality of life.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience within Adult Social Care, Community Occupational Therapy, or Integrated Care services.
• Strong functional assessment and rehabilitation skills.
• Experience recommending equipment and environmental adaptations.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and multidisciplinary team-working skills.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload independently.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred care.
