Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 7 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist for a locum role within East Anglia NHS. This position focuses on working within a front door service, supporting early assessment, decision-making, and patient flow within acute or urgent care pathways.
The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical assessment and intervention at the initial point of contact, helping to identify patient needs, support discharge planning, and ensure individuals are directed to the most appropriate care pathways. This role plays a key part in supporting timely care and effective patient management within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced occupational therapy or physiotherapy assessments within a front door service.
- Support early decision-making regarding patient care pathways and discharge planning.
- Assess functional ability and identify rehabilitation or support needs at the earliest stage of care.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient flow.
- Develop person-centred recommendations that promote independence and safe discharge.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
- Contribute to service delivery within a fast-paced acute or urgent care environment.
About You
You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist working at Band 7 level, with
strong front door or acute assessment experience. You will be confident making clinical decisions
at pace and supporting patient flow within a multidisciplinary setting.
You will demonstrate excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills, enabling you to assess patients quickly
and provide appropriate recommendations that support safe and effective care pathways.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working at Band 7 level or equivalent.
- Strong experience working within front door, acute, or urgent care services.
- Ability to carry out rapid assessments and support discharge planning.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
