Tripod Partners are recruiting a Team Manager for a locum opportunity with
Southampton City Council, based at the Civic Centre within
Hampshire Social Services. This role will support the ongoing development of the
Adult Social Care Front Door Team, working alongside the current management team to
deliver an extensive service improvement programme.
The position plays an important role in strengthening the front door service responsible for managing
new referrals into Adult Social Care, including Care Act assessments and
safeguarding enquiries. The successful candidate will contribute to a major improvement
plan designed to enhance team culture, performance, professional development, and operational processes.
This role is part of a wider improvement priority for Adult Social Care at Southampton City Council and
benefits from strong organisational support, including senior leadership, practice development, project
management, HR, and business support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and operational leadership of the Adult Social Care Front Door Team.
- Work alongside the existing management team to implement an extensive service improvement plan.
- Lead initiatives that support cultural change, learning and development, and improved team performance.
- Oversee the management of new referrals into Adult Social Care, including Care Act assessments and safeguarding enquiries.
- Ensure the team delivers a timely first response to individuals referred to Adult Social Care services.
- Promote a preventative approach that supports people to resolve issues at the earliest possible stage.
- Support improvements to operational pathways, processes, and service delivery across the team.
- Work collaboratively with senior management, practice development teams, project managers, HR, and business support.
About You
You will be an experienced Adult Social Care Team Manager with a strong understanding of front door services,
Care Act responsibilities, and safeguarding processes. You will be confident supporting service improvement initiatives and
working collaboratively with management teams to deliver meaningful organisational change.
Experience leading improvement projects that strengthen team culture, performance, and service delivery will be important
for success in this role. You will also bring strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to support the
ongoing development of the service.
Requirements
- Experience working at Team Manager level within Adult Social Care services.
- Strong knowledge of Care Act assessments and safeguarding processes.
- Experience delivering service improvement or change management projects.
- Ability to support performance improvement and positive team culture.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and corporate support teams.
- Ability to work on-site at least three days per week at Southampton Civic Centre.
