This position supports Adult Services, helping individuals maintain independence and improve quality of life through occupational therapy assessments, equipment provision, and home adaptations.
The Occupational Therapist will work within community settings, supporting adults with a range of needs through person-centred interventions designed to promote safe and independent living.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake occupational therapy assessments within community and home environments.
- Support adults to live independently through person-centred interventions.
- Assess and recommend equipment and home adaptations.
- Promote independence, safety, and wellbeing within the home environment.
- Develop and implement support plans tailored to assessed needs.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with professional and local authority standards.
- Provide advice and guidance to service users, families, and carers.
About You
You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in
adult social care or community occupational therapy services. You will demonstrate excellent
assessment and clinical reasoning skills alongside a strengths-based and person-centred approach to practice.
You will be confident managing community caseloads and supporting individuals to maximise independence
through practical interventions and collaborative working.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience within adult social care or community occupational therapy services.
- Experience with equipment provision and home adaptations desirable.
- Strong communication, organisational, and multidisciplinary working skills.
- Ability to work autonomously within community settings.

- Role: Occupational Therapist
- Sector: Mid Wales Social Services
- Contract Type: Locum
- Contract Length: 12 weeks initially
- Working Hours: 34 hours per week
- Salary: £36.29 umbrella
