Lead Therapist – Children and Young People
Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting a Lead Therapist for a locum
in South London Social Services.
This role will provide leadership and clinical oversight for therapy services supporting children and young
people across the borough. The Lead Therapist will oversee the delivery of therapy support within their
clinical specialism, ensuring children receive appropriate interventions within education and community
settings. The position involves working closely with schools, education providers, and partner services to
support positive outcomes for children and young people.
The role combines strategic leadership, clinical supervision, and service development responsibilities.
You will help develop and implement a tiered Universal, Targeted and Specialist model of therapy delivery
within the local area while ensuring high standards of practice across the therapy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of therapy support for children and young people within your clinical area of specialism.
- Provide professional supervision and guidance to therapists and therapy assistants.
- Oversee a team including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Therapy Assistants.
- Contribute to multi-agency meetings, Annual Reviews, and tribunals where required.
- Support service development and the implementation of a tiered therapy delivery model.
- Work collaboratively with schools, education settings, and partner agencies across the borough.
- Travel across the borough to visit schools, education settings, and other locations where therapy support is required.
- Ensure therapy services are delivered in line with professional standards and organisational policies.
About You
You will be an experienced paediatric therapist with a strong background in delivering
therapy services for children and young people. You will have the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team,
provide clinical supervision, and contribute to service development within a local authority setting.
You will be confident working across education and community environments, collaborating with schools,
families, and partner agencies to deliver coordinated support for children and young people.
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant therapy discipline.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a paediatric therapist.
- Experience delivering clinical supervision to therapy staff.
- Experience working with children and young people within education or community services.
- Knowledge of HCPC policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Ability to travel across the London Borough of Croydon to visit schools and education settings.
