MSK/Pelvic Health Physiotherapist – Band 7

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 7 MSK/Pelvic Health Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity with Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, working across Beaufort House and Eastcote MSK Physio Clinic. This is a specialist community outpatient role combining Musculoskeletal (MSK) and complex pelvic health physiotherapy.

The role is suitable for an autonomous Physiotherapist with highly specialist assessment and treatment experience. Flexible working arrangements may be available, including the potential for two part-time locums to cover the service – approximately 1–2 days per week focused on complex pelvic health and 3–4 days on MSK outpatient work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake highly specialist physiotherapy assessments for patients presenting with diverse and complex physical and psychological conditions.
  • Manage an independent clinical caseload of patients with musculoskeletal conditions, working autonomously without direct clinical supervision.
  • Provide specialist MSK and complex pelvic health physiotherapy within a community outpatient setting.
  • Undertake all aspects of clinical practice as an autonomous practitioner, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate treatment and management plans based on individual patient needs and clinical presentation.
  • Participate in formal training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, and other professional development activities.
  • Provide clinical advice and support to junior and less experienced Physiotherapists and other colleagues.
  • Supervise, mentor, educate, and assess undergraduate Physiotherapy students, ensuring clinical education meets university standards.
  • Undertake evidence-based clinical audit and research projects with colleagues to develop and enhance individual and team practice.
  • Support the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist with recommendations and changes to clinical practice and service protocols.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the MSK and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy service.

About You

You will be an experienced Band 7 Physiotherapist with specialist expertise in MSK and/or pelvic health physiotherapy. You will be confident undertaking complex assessments, managing an autonomous caseload, and making advanced clinical decisions within your professional scope.

You will also have strong leadership, supervision, mentoring, and clinical education skills, with the ability to support less experienced colleagues and contribute to service development, audit, research, and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

  • Relevant Physiotherapy degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Highly specialist experience in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
  • Experience in complex Pelvic Health Physiotherapy is required for the specialist pelvic health element of the role.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and autonomous practice skills.
  • Experience managing a complex MSK caseload without direct clinical supervision.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, educating, or assessing Physiotherapy students and/or junior staff.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based Physiotherapy practice.
  • Experience contributing to clinical audit, research, service development, or changes to clinical protocols.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and multidisciplinary team-working skills.
