This is an excellent opportunity for a Physiotherapist with experience in paediatric MSK services who is passionate about improving the health, mobility, and wellbeing of children and young people. Working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, you will manage a specialist caseload while collaborating with families, education providers, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an autonomous outpatient caseload, delivering evidence-based interventions and personalised treatment programmes.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of physical function, mobility, posture, strength, and movement.
  • Develop and review individualised rehabilitation plans to optimise functional outcomes and participation.
  • Provide specialist advice, exercise programmes, and treatment recommendations to children, parents, carers, and other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Health, Education, and Social Care to coordinate person-centred care.
  • Communicate effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds, including those where English is an additional language (EAL).
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, clinical audit, research, and service development initiatives.
  • Deliver education and training to healthcare professionals, parents, carers, and educational staff on paediatric physiotherapy management.
  • Supervise and support Physiotherapy Assistants (PTAs) and contribute to the clinical education of Physiotherapy students.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.

About You

You will be an HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with experience working within paediatric musculoskeletal services. You will be confident managing an independent outpatient caseload, delivering specialist rehabilitation programmes, and working collaboratively with children, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

You will possess excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills, together with a commitment to evidence-based practice, service improvement, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Relevant UK NHS Physiotherapy experience.
  • Experience working within paediatric musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient services.
  • Ability to independently manage a specialist paediatric caseload.
  • Excellent assessment, rehabilitation, and treatment planning skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across Health, Education, and Social Care.
  • Experience providing education, training, or supervision to colleagues, students, or Physiotherapy Assistants is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
