Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join Croydon Health Services NHS Trust within its Domiciliary Physiotherapy service. This locum opportunity is ideal for an experienced NHS Physiotherapist who is confident providing autonomous assessment, intervention and rehabilitation to adults in community settings.
The post holder will provide physiotherapy to adults aged 18 and over across a variety of community environments, including patients’ homes, residential and nursing homes and community rehabilitation centres. You will work alongside Physiotherapy Assistants and liaise closely with carers, health visitors, therapy and nursing colleagues, GPs, Social Services and voluntary sector professionals.
The role offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills in the treatment and management of adults with multifactorial rehabilitation needs, while also supporting and supervising unregistered physiotherapy staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide physiotherapy assessment, intervention and review for adults aged 18 and over within community settings across Croydon.
- Deliver domiciliary physiotherapy in patients’ homes and other relevant community environments.
- Assess and treat adults with multifactorial rehabilitation needs, developing appropriate interventions to support their rehabilitation.
- Work autonomously as a physiotherapy practitioner, with clinical supervision from a Band 7 Physiotherapist.
- Provide physiotherapy across a variety of settings, including private homes, residential and nursing homes and community rehabilitation centres.
- Work alongside Physiotherapy Assistants to support the delivery of patient care.
- Supervise and support unregistered physiotherapy staff as required.
- Liaise with carers, health visitors and therapy and nursing staff within Croydon Health Services and Croydon University Hospital.
- Work collaboratively with external health providers, GPs, Social Services and voluntary sector professionals to support coordinated care.
- Work flexibly across Community Rehabilitation Teams according to service requirements.
- Undertake appropriate reviews and adapt physiotherapy interventions in response to patients’ changing rehabilitation needs.
About You
We are looking for a confident Band 6 Physiotherapist with NHS experience and the ability to work autonomously within a community rehabilitation environment. You will have strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills and be comfortable working with adults who have multifactorial rehabilitation needs.
You will be an effective communicator who can build positive working relationships with patients, carers and a wide range of health and social care professionals. The ability to work collaboratively while managing your own clinical responsibilities is essential.
Requirements
- Qualified Physiotherapist with appropriate professional registration.
- Relevant NHS Physiotherapy experience is essential.
- Experience working with adults in a community or rehabilitation setting.
- Ability to undertake autonomous physiotherapy assessment, intervention and review.
- Experience working with adults with multifactorial rehabilitation needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health and social care professionals.
- Ability to work alongside and support Physiotherapy Assistants.
- Experience or confidence in supervising unregistered physiotherapy staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across Community Rehabilitation Teams.
- Availability to work 3 days per week, with exact working days to be confirmed.
