Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for a locum role within West Yorkshire NHS. This position is based at St James’s University Hospital, supporting acute hospital therapy services and rehabilitation pathways.

The Occupational Therapist will contribute to delivering high-quality patient-centred care, supporting assessment, rehabilitation, discharge planning, and interventions that promote independence and recovery within hospital settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions within acute hospital settings.
• Support rehabilitation and recovery-focused treatment plans.
• Assist with discharge planning and safe patient transitions.
• Manage a varied caseload within multidisciplinary team environments.
• Develop and implement person-centred therapy plans.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and partner services.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Support patients to maximise independence and functional outcomes.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with relevant 
UK NHS experience. You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability 
to work effectively within acute hospital and multidisciplinary healthcare environments.

You will be organised, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality rehabilitation and therapy 
services to patients within fast-paced clinical settings.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Relevant UK NHS experience (essential).
• Experience within acute hospital settings desirable.
• Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Contract & Salary

• Role: Occupational Therapist – Band 6
• Sector: West Yorkshire NHS
• Contract Type: Locum
• Contract Length: 4 months initially
• Salary: Negotiable
