Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity within Surrey NHS. Based at Heathlands Care Home, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, this role supports the Older People and Integrated Care service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist with strong leadership skills and a background in rehabilitation, discharge planning, and complex moving and handling. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to improve outcomes for older adults with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for older adults with complex health needs.
- Manage a complex caseload, delivering evidence-based rehabilitation and person-centred care planning.
- Undertake complex moving and handling assessments and recommend appropriate interventions and equipment.
- Lead rehabilitation programmes that maximise independence and functional outcomes.
- Develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Provide leadership and clinical support to Occupational Therapy staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service development projects.
- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, therapy, and social care professionals to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.
- Support the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality Older People and Integrated Care services.
About You
You will be an experienced HCPC-registered Band 7 Occupational Therapist with a proven background in acute or intermediate care services for older adults. You will possess strong leadership and management skills and be confident managing complex rehabilitation, care planning, and moving and handling assessments.
You will be passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and driving continuous service improvement through collaborative multidisciplinary working.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Previous experience working as a Band 7 Occupational Therapist within the NHS.
- Strong leadership and people management experience.
- Experience delivering quality improvement and service development initiatives.
- Expertise in complex moving and handling assessments.
- Experience in rehabilitation, assessment, and person-centred care planning.
- Excellent multidisciplinary team-working and communication skills.
- Strong clinical reasoning and the ability to manage complex caseloads independently.
