Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist – Band 6 (2 Roles)
Brief Job Overview
We are recruiting for two Band 6 Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists to join Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, working within Intermediate Care (OPAC) services across Cambs/East Cambs and Fenland/Hunts/Peterborough. This community-based NHS therapy role focuses on rehabilitation, recovery, and supporting patient flow across step-up and step-down pathways, helping people remain independent and avoid unnecessary hospital stays.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced therapists with an interest in intermediate care, community rehabilitation, and discharge support to contribute to a responsive, patient-centred NHS service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapy interventions for patients on ICT Pathway 1 within Intermediate Care services.
- Assess patient needs and provide appropriate equipment and rehabilitation support.
- Review patient progression and adapt therapy plans to support recovery and independence.
- Support Intermediate Care Worker (ICW) development within the service.
- Contribute to effective patient flow across services.
- Provide therapy input for patients on step-up and step-down pathways.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary NHS team to deliver coordinated care.
About You
You will be a motivated and adaptable therapist with experience in rehabilitation and a strong understanding of supporting patients through recovery pathways. You’ll be confident managing your own caseload, working in community or intermediate care settings, and contributing positively to team-based service delivery.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience in intermediate care, rehabilitation, or community therapy settings.
- Ability to assess, provide equipment, and review patient progress effectively.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload.
Contract & Salary
- Locum contract – Ongoing
- Full-time hours
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
- Competitive pay rate – £negotiable
- Based within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS services
