Occupational Therapist – Band 7 (Part-Time)

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist for a part-time locum opportunity within Merseyside. Based at Brainkind – Redford Court, Liverpool, this role provides additional support to a specialist Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Neurological Rehabilitation Service while a new team member completes their notice period.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Occupational Therapist with neurological rehabilitation experience who is passionate about supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, delivering specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions that maximise independence, functional ability, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for individuals with acquired brain injury (ABI) and complex neurological conditions.
• Develop and implement person-centred rehabilitation programmes to maximise functional independence and participation.
• Assess cognitive, perceptual, physical, sensory, and functional abilities to inform rehabilitation planning.
• Support individuals in achieving meaningful rehabilitation goals through evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions.
• Recommend appropriate equipment, environmental adaptations, and compensatory strategies where required.
• Work collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists, Nursing staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Provide education and advice to patients, families, carers, and colleagues to support ongoing rehabilitation.
• Monitor and evaluate rehabilitation outcomes, adapting intervention plans as required.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records in accordance with HCPC and organisational standards.
• Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality neurological rehabilitation service.

About You

You will be an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with significant experience in neurological rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, or complex rehabilitation services. You will be confident managing complex caseloads and working autonomously while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

You will possess excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and problem-solving skills, together with a passion for supporting individuals to achieve the highest possible level of independence following neurological injury.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working within acquired brain injury (ABI), neurological rehabilitation, or complex rehabilitation services.
• Excellent assessment, rehabilitation, and clinical reasoning skills.
• Experience managing complex neurological caseloads.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary team-working skills.
• Ability to work independently while delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
• Commitment to evidence-based rehabilitation and continuous professional development.
