Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting six Occupational Therapists for locum roles within Gloucestershire Social Services. These positions sit within adult social care services and involve delivering occupational therapy assessments within individuals’ homes, with a strong focus on promoting independence and wellbeing.
The roles form part of a pilot reablement project, supporting individuals to prevent, reduce, and delay the impact of disability and long-term health conditions. The Occupational Therapists will also contribute to the Adult Helpdesk by supporting referrals and working collaboratively with wider social care teams and community organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments within community and home settings.
- Identify occupational performance issues affecting independence and daily living.
- Develop person-centred intervention plans to promote independence and wellbeing.
- Support a pilot reablement project aimed at reducing long-term care needs.
- Work collaboratively with adult social care teams, voluntary organisations, and community services.
- Contribute to referral management through the Adult Helpdesk.
- Support care needs assessments and provide specialist occupational therapy input.
- Maintain accurate documentation and case records in line with statutory requirements.
About You
You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within community or
adult social care settings. You will be confident working autonomously and undertaking assessments within
individuals’ homes, applying a strengths-based approach to support independence.
You will demonstrate empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering person-centred
care, supporting individuals to achieve meaningful outcomes within their daily lives.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy (Diploma or Degree).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and RCOT.
- Minimum of 18 months’ experience as a registered Occupational Therapist or equivalent competency.
- Experience working within community settings and conducting home-based assessments.
- Knowledge of the Care Act and its application in practice.
- Experience or training in environmental adaptations desirable.
- Full UK driving licence required due to county-wide travel.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required.
