Occupational Therapist – Band 6

 

Brief Job Overview

 

Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North East London NHS. This position is based within the Intensive Rehabilitation & Therapy Service at Grays Court Community Hospital, supporting patients through community-based rehabilitation, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.

 

The Occupational Therapist will work independently within a community rehabilitation team, managing their own caseload and delivering evidence-based interventions to support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals and maximising independence.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments within community rehabilitation settings.
  • Provide treatment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for patients with a range of rehabilitation needs.
  • Manage an independent caseload and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans using clinical reasoning and recognised outcome measures.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
  • Support patients to maximise independence and functional outcomes within their own homes and communities.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and safe discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NHS standards.

 

About You

 

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a background in 
community rehabilitation and NHS services. You will demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning 
skills and confidence managing your own caseload within a community setting.

 

You will be proactive, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality rehabilitation services that 
support independence, recovery, and positive patient outcomes.

 

Requirements

 

  • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Post-qualification occupational therapy experience.
  • NHS experience essential.
  • Community rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Experience in assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
  • Strong communication, organisational, and multidisciplinary working skills.

 

Contract & Salary

 

  • Role: Occupational Therapist – Band 6
  • Sector: North East London NHS
  • Contract Type: Locum
  • Contract Length: Ongoing
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30
  • Part-Time Considered: Minimum 3 days per week (22.5 hours), dependent on experience
  • Working Pattern: Agile working in place
