Occupational Therapist – Band 6 (Locum)

Contract: Locum, Ongoing (initial 3 months)
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Community Health Services – Rehabilitation and Enablement Team. This role involves delivering high-quality, specialist occupational therapy to adults within the community, supporting rehabilitation, self-management and independence.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as a Specialist Occupational Therapist, providing high-quality assessment, advice, treatment and evaluation for clients referred to integrated community services.
- Manage a diverse caseload, including individuals with complex physical and psychological needs, including neurological conditions.
- Work as part of a multi-professional team within the community, supporting rehabilitation and enablement across the continuum of care.
- Practice autonomously in line with HCPC regulations, holding responsibility for your own caseload.
- Use sound clinical reasoning to plan, deliver and review effective intervention programmes.
- Supervise, educate and assess occupational therapy students at graduate level, working in partnership with universities to maintain high standards of practice.
- Support service development and contribute to maintaining an excellent standard of care within the locality.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust and professional standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Post-qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Community-based rehabilitation and enablement experience.
- Experience managing complex caseloads.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience supervising students or junior staff (desirable).
Working Hours
- Full-time hours.
