East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking 2 Community Occupational Therapists – Band 6 to join the mental health service within City and Hackney. The successful Occupational Therapists will work as active members of multidisciplinary teams, providing assessment, care and support to people experiencing mental health problems.

This is an opportunity for experienced Occupational Therapists to contribute to person-centred care, comprehensive assessment and individualised care and support planning within community mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as an active member of the multidisciplinary team within the quadrant mental health teams across City and Hackney.
• Provide assessment, care and support to people with mental health needs.
• Complete comprehensive, high-quality assessments, including risk assessments and Dialog+ plans.
• Manage an allocated caseload and act as a case manager when required.
• Develop, implement and regularly review individualised care and support plans.
• Promote the needs and wellbeing of service users with mental health needs.
• Provide training and education to service users, colleagues and relevant others where appropriate.
• Participate in the Duty Rota, responding to emergencies and processing referrals.
• Support the Senior Practitioners and Operational Lead with the management of the service.
• Deputise for senior colleagues in their absence as required.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Community Occupational Therapist who can work confidently within a multidisciplinary mental health service. You will be able to manage a caseload effectively, complete comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care and support plans based on the needs of service users.

You will have a collaborative approach and be confident responding to referrals and emergencies as part of a Duty Rota. The ability to support service management and provide guidance, education and training where appropriate will also be important within this role.

Requirements

• Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working as an Occupational Therapist within community or mental health services.
• Experience completing comprehensive assessments and risk assessments.
• Experience managing a caseload and contributing to individualised care and support plans.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to participate in a Duty Rota and respond appropriately to referrals and emergencies.
• Strong communication, organisational and case management skills.
• Ability to support colleagues and contribute to service management when required.
