Occupational Therapist – Band 7

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity within West Yorkshire NHS. Based at Millshaw Park Lane, Leeds, this role is within the Neighbourhood Therapy Team, providing specialist Occupational Therapy services to adults within the community.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced community Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation that enables adults to remain independent in their own homes. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will manage a varied community caseload, complete comprehensive assessments, and support safe, effective care planning and intervention.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload of adults requiring community-based Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention.
• Undertake holistic functional assessments to identify needs, risks, and rehabilitation goals.
• Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans that promote independence and improve quality of life.
• Provide specialist advice on rehabilitation, equipment provision, and community support services.
• Apply the principles of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) when undertaking assessments and supporting decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, GPs, community services, social care professionals, and carers.
• Prioritise referrals and manage competing clinical demands effectively.
• Travel throughout the community to undertake home visits and deliver Occupational Therapy interventions.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.
• Contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality community rehabilitation services.

About You

You will be an experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with a strong background in adult community rehabilitation within the NHS. You will be confident working autonomously, managing a varied caseload, and applying clinical reasoning to deliver effective, person-centred interventions.

You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, together with a thorough understanding of community rehabilitation, multidisciplinary working, and the Mental Capacity Act.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Relevant UK NHS Occupational Therapy experience.
• Essential experience working within adult community Occupational Therapy services.
• Strong caseload management and prioritisation skills.
• Good knowledge and practical application of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
• Excellent clinical reasoning, assessment, and rehabilitation planning skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
