Physiotherapist – Band 6

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity within North West London NHS. Based at Northwick Park Hospital, part of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, this role offers the opportunity to work within a busy acute hospital environment, supporting patients across inpatient wards with a strong emphasis on respiratory care.

The successful candidate will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to patients with a range of acute medical and respiratory conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist with strong inpatient and respiratory skills who enjoys working within a fast-paced multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients across acute inpatient wards.
  • Deliver evidence-based respiratory physiotherapy interventions, including assessment and management of patients with acute respiratory conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualised rehabilitation programmes to maximise functional recovery and independence.
  • Assess patients’ mobility, physical function, and respiratory status using advanced clinical reasoning.
  • Contribute to early mobilisation, rehabilitation, and safe discharge planning.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centred care.
  • Provide education and advice to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans according to clinical need.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and NHS standards.
  • Support the delivery of a safe, effective, and responsive physiotherapy service.

About You

You will be an experienced Physiotherapist with a strong background in acute inpatient physiotherapy and respiratory care. You will be confident managing a varied caseload, working independently, and delivering evidence-based interventions within a multidisciplinary environment.

You will possess excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality rehabilitation and patient-centred care.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Previous experience working within an acute NHS hospital setting.
  • Strong inpatient physiotherapy experience.
  • Competence in respiratory assessment and treatment.
  • Experience in acute rehabilitation and discharge planning.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning and assessment skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
