Job Title: Occupational Therapist (2 roles) Area: South London Social Services Salary: £negotiable Job Type: Locum Contract length: Ongoing Job details: 2 experienced, innovative Occupational Therapists required to complete assessments for adaptations. The post holder will have strong experience in housing and adaptations. They will have enthusiasm to enable people to live more independently and promote positive outcomes for residents. They will provide holistic assessment, considering people's strengths, long term needs, prevention, and well-being. The post holder will make necessary and appropriate recommendations to the Home Improvement Agency, as well as meeting needs as required, for example through provision of equipment. They will have technical knowledge of adaptations and be able to review plans to ensure that they will meet requirements and meet the needs of the person. The post holder will be an excellent communicator, able to work in partnership with residents, their families, and other professionals. They will work collaboratively with colleagues in social care and housing, fostering good relationships. As a registered Occupational Therapist with experience in social care, the post holder will be working across the borough completing assessments. They will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team of Social Workers and Assessment Officers. They will also work closely with the other teams and partners to ensure that assessment and recommendations are robust and fully meet the needs of our residents. The post holder will have sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Housing Act and the principles of safeguarding. The post holder will report to the Assistant Team Manager Occupational Therapist and receive monthly supervision and guidance, as well as informal support. Hybrid working available – the post holder will be required to be based in the office regularly and be able to visit people face to face in Sutton.
