• • This full-time post is for a band 7 Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) working across Berkshire within the Community Learning Disability Services (Adults).

• • You will be a source of expertise for the defined area of specialism and be able to support and develop colleagues working in the field and be a point of reference for colleagues and managers where advice may be requested/needed.

• • You will be skilled in the use of advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment programmes with individual clients who have complex needs (physical health, mental health and/or behaviour that challenges).  You will be expected to work alongside other allied health professionals and external organisations within a focused multi-disciplinary team framework.

• • You will contribute to the development of service provision within their area of specialism alongside the Learning Disability Service operational team leads and professional leads. Skills/experience:

• Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent
• Registered with HCPC & licenced to practice

• Post graduate dysphagia qualification (or willingness to undertake)
• Evidence of successful, relevant post graduate study through CPD portfolio

Occupational Therapist required to work in the community, building relationships to support adults to maximise their independence. The team are seeking a person centred, professionally qualified and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist. The role will be for 3 months initially but may extend to 6 months. There is an experienced management team who are committed to good support, advice, supervision, and a nurturing team ethos.
The post holder will be supported in their role by a wider network of Occupational Therapists including a dedicated Occupational Therapy service manager and dedicated Occupational Therapy senior practitioners.
There will be opportunities to work across a variety of areas including safeguarding, complex health needs, moving and handling, learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge, duty team responses, assistive technology, hospital liaison, housing and major adaptations among others.
As part of the multi-disciplinary Adult Care Team, the post holder will be required to take a strength-based approach to deliver a proportionate, personalised, safe and sustainable response for local adults, their carers, and families.
A positive approach to risk taking, personal resilience and the ability to contribute to inter agency and multi-disciplinary approaches both across the council and in other statutory bodies are key to this role.

Job details:  Reablement team in social care, covering people working on a project secondment. Working in a team with 4 other OTs. The OT's will be working with care provider who provides short term support for people. The aim is to work with people and reduce their care needs, sometimes taking on people with more complex needs so OT may be going in to facilitate a better set up. Complex cases can involve moving and handling. No major adaptions or housing but can access minor adaptions. Skills/experience:

• People with good moving and handling knowledge and single handed knowledge
• Have good, solid assessment and guidance and is able to produce quick turn around
• Ability to work well with care agencies and working well with carers, setting up therapy programs, etc
• Experience in supporting and guiding new staff would be a plus but is not essential
• Need to have a few years of experience to hit the ground running. Will not accept newly qualified OTs
• Open to other backgrounds if they have transferrable skills with rehabilitation or reablement

Hybrid: one day in the office policy a week. No set days to work for part time, but ideally would be beginning of the week)
Ideally local enough to do visits and observational assessments

• self-allocation system for visits so number of visits can be variable

Role 2) post is to do community case work – would be expected to between 20-25 cases  depending on capacity and complexity – looking for a full time post but would depend on what the working hours are, they would need adaptations, equipment and moving and handling experience – the intervention would the follow up – ideally no less than 3 days and hybrid would be fine – initially  in the office 3 days a week for the induction and training but can be negotiated – no duty work required, when trained can be once a week in the office but again can be negotiated
