• The successful applicant will contribute to the comprehensive assessment and treatment of service users in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
• You will provide effective, tailored, evidence based occupational therapy to service users who are between 11-18 years of age, using goal setting and interventions focused on re-engagement in self-care, productivity, and leisure activities, and promoting health, wellbeing and independence.
• You will be expected to identify and use relevant occupational therapy standardised assessments and outcomes. You will also exchange complex sensitive information with service users and assess their response to activities in accordance with agreed models of practice. You will also provide occupational therapy advice to other disciplines.
• You will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians, and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services; providing a 7-day a week, 24-hours a day service for 365 days a year working shifts where appropriate and operationally required.

Job details:  Perinatal Parent Infant Mental Health Service. Qualified RMN, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist required for 3 months, to provide mental health interventions to pregnant women and/or their partners/significant others. As a member of the multidisciplinary Perinatal Parent Infant Mental Health Service, the post holder will work constructively with colleagues to ensure a carefully planned ‘safety network’ of care is available for parents and babies.

Must also have a minimum 4 years post qualification experience within a mental health setting and extensive experience of working in the community as a qualified Practitioner; and working with Safeguarding children cases.
Experience of working in the Perinatal Mental Health field is desirable, and/or a keen interest in this specialist area.
Responsibilities: 
• To manage a caseload of service users open to the perinatal service, offering a range of interventions, for a stated limited period
• Ensuring assessment, support/care-plans and intervention is shared and agreed with relevant individuals and agencies
• To plan care in association with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, involving involve service user, and where appropriate carers in the care planning and care delivery, having explained options and obtained consent to care and treatment
• To be responsible for organising and prioritising workload in the day to day allocation of work, responding to referrals as and when they present
• To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them
• To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes
• To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register
• To ensure referrals to the team are processed and responded to accordingly, assessing and using professional judgement to assess level of need and urgency, as well as obtaining further information as required, determining appropriate intervention and proposed outcomes of intervention 
Working hours: 5 sessions over 2.5 days - negotiable working days (ideally one day should be a Tuesday but not essential)
