Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity within North London Social Services. Based with Enfield Council, this role focuses on delivering specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for the provision of major and minor adaptations to support adults living safely and independently within their own homes.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a community Occupational Therapy service, undertaking comprehensive functional assessments, recommending practical solutions, and working collaboratively with service users, carers, housing professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to improve independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments within service users’ homes.
- Assess functional ability and identify appropriate interventions to maximise independence.
- Recommend and coordinate the provision of minor and major housing adaptations.
- Assess for specialist equipment and assistive technology to support safe daily living.
- Provide advice on moving and handling, risk management, and environmental adaptations.
- Work collaboratively with housing teams, contractors, social workers, and healthcare professionals to facilitate adaptations.
- Manage a varied community caseload, prioritising work according to clinical need.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records and assessment reports.
- Promote strengths-based, person-centred practice that supports individuals to remain independent within their own homes.
About You
You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in Adult Social Care and community-based practice. You will be confident assessing for major and minor adaptations, recommending specialist equipment, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
You will possess excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills, together with a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy services.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience working within Adult Social Care or Community Occupational Therapy.
- Experience assessing for major and minor housing adaptations.
- Knowledge of specialist equipment and assistive technology provision.
- Understanding of moving and handling principles and risk assessment.
- Excellent assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage an independent community caseload.
