Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role within Sussex Social Services. This position sits within a dynamic occupational therapy service supporting adults through strengths-based assessments and person-centred planning aimed at improving wellbeing and independence.

The Occupational Therapist will manage a caseload, working closely with individuals and their family or friend carers to assess needs, identify outcomes, and develop practical support plans. The role focuses on applying occupational therapy skills within a social care context to enable individuals to maintain independence and access community resources where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out strengths-based occupational therapy assessments in line with relevant legislation.
• Manage a caseload of individuals requiring occupational therapy support.
• Work collaboratively with individuals, families, and carers to identify needs and personalised outcomes.
• Develop and implement support plans that promote independence and wellbeing.
• Undertake reviews to ensure that support arrangements remain appropriate and effective.
• Utilise community assets and resources to support individuals in achieving their goals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with statutory responsibilities and service standards.
• Work within a supportive team environment with access to professional supervision.

About You

You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working within adult social care services. You will be confident applying strengths-based approaches to assessment and support planning, helping individuals achieve meaningful outcomes that improve independence and wellbeing.

You will demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, enabling you to manage a caseload while working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and partner organisations.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Experience undertaking strengths-based assessments within social care services.
• Ability to develop and implement person-centred support plans.
• Experience working with individuals and their carers to identify needs and outcomes.
• Strong communication and workload management skills.
