Northampton Children’s Trust is seeking a skilled and resilient Locum Social Worker to join the Child Protection Team. This essential role focuses on safeguarding children at risk, carrying out thorough assessments, and working closely with families and multi-agency partners to protect children and promote their welfare. The ideal candidate will have strong statutory social work experience and be confident managing complex and challenging caseloads.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct statutory child protection assessments and investigations under the Children Act 1989.

Identify and evaluate risks to children, developing and implementing effective protection plans.

Collaborate with families, schools, health professionals, and other agencies to ensure coordinated safeguarding interventions.

Prepare comprehensive reports for Child Protection Conferences, case reviews, and court proceedings.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with Northampton Children’s Trust policies and statutory requirements.
