Brief Job Overview
Enfield Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to support Adult Social Care services in the community. This role focuses on working with adults who have physical disabilities and learning disabilities, contributing to assessments and interventions that promote independence, safety, and wellbeing.
This is a community-based role suited to an Occupational Therapy Assistant with prior social care experience who is confident working directly with service users in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of occupational therapy services to adults with physical and learning disabilities.
- Carry out community-based assessments in line with agreed care and support plans.
- Assist qualified Occupational Therapists with assessment and intervention work.
- Work directly with service users and carers to support daily living and independence.
- Maintain accurate, timely records in accordance with council policies and procedures.
- Liaise effectively with colleagues and partner professionals to support coordinated care.
About You
You will be a confident and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant with a strong understanding of adult social care. You will be comfortable working autonomously in the community while contributing positively within a wider multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant within Adult Social Care.
- Experience working with adults with physical disabilities and learning disabilities.
- Ability to carry out community-based assessments.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Contract & Working Pattern
- Locum contract – ongoing
- 35 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
- Community-based role within Enfield
- Rate: £27.71 per hour (Umbrella)
