Advanced Social Worker – Adults’ Services (London Borough of Haringey)

Job Overview

We are recruiting an experienced **Advanced Social Worker (Qualified Social Worker)** to join the **London Borough of Haringey’s Adults’ Services team**. This senior practice role combines complex casework with professional leadership, ensuring adults receive high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence and safeguards wellbeing.

As an Advanced Social Worker, you will lead on high-risk cases, mentor colleagues, and contribute to service development and quality assurance within Adults’ Services.

Key Responsibilities

Lead on complex adult social care cases, including safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessments.

Provide professional guidance, mentoring, and reflective supervision to social workers and support staff.

Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.

Develop, implement, and review person-centred care and support plans.

Carry out best-interest decisions and contribute to legal proceedings where required.

Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court hearings.

Work collaboratively with health, housing, voluntary organisations, and community partners to deliver integrated support.

Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.

Contribute to audits, quality assurance processes, and continuous service improvement.

About You

You are a confident and resilient social worker with significant post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are skilled at managing complex safeguarding cases while also supporting and mentoring colleagues in practice.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Extensive post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.

In-depth knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.

Proven experience of mentoring, supervising, or supporting colleagues.

Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage advanced practice responsibilities alongside a demanding caseload.
