Contract Length: Ongoing (initial 6 weeks, ASAP start)

Role Overview:
Band 6 Physiotherapist required to support community hospital wards, with a focus on rehabilitation and reablement. The postholder will deliver patient-centred physiotherapy, mobility assessments, and exercise programmes, as well as play a key role in discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients with a wide range of conditions including arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, MSK, COPD, orthopaedics, and falls.

  • Deliver mobility assessments, rehabilitation plans, and exercise programmes.

  • Lead on discharge planning and provision of equipment.

  • Apply manual handling expertise to ensure safe patient care.

  • Supervise junior staff and support service delivery.

  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration (essential).

  • Proven hospital ward and rehabilitation experience.

  • Manual handling expertise.

  • Car driver (essential – transporting equipment as required).

Working Hours: 30–37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.
