Job Details

 

A Band 7 Paediatric Occupational Therapist is required to start ASAP for an initial 12-week locum contract. This role focuses on delivering therapy to children and young people aged 5–11 years with additional needs across mainstream school and clinic settings within the borough.

 

  •  
    • Deliver blocks of occupational therapy to children and young people with EHCPs within mainstream school settings.
       

    • Provide therapy input to children transitioning from pre-school to primary school during the current academic year.
       

    • Review, plan and implement structured blocks of therapy in line with individual needs and outcomes.
       

    • Upskill parents, carers and school staff to support therapy goals effectively.
       

    • Complete goal-setting documentation, provide written advice and contribute to annual review reports where required.
       

    • Manage a caseload organised to minimise travel, while working flexibly across the borough.
       

    • Deliver creative and engaging therapy sessions tailored to each child’s needs.
       

    • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support holistic outcomes.

     

    Skills & Experience

     

    •  
      • Experience working with children aged 5–11 with additional needs.
         

      • Previous experience delivering therapy within both school and clinic settings.
         

      • Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and outcome-focused therapy delivery.
         

      • Excellent communication skills to engage children, families and education staff.

       

      Working Hours

       

      37.5 hours per week

      Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 16.30

      Flexible working considered (e.g. 08.00 – 16.00 or 09.00 – 17.00)

      Full time preferred, part time considered
