Job Title: Occupational Therapist

 

Location: Redbridge Council – Cranbrook and Loxford

Area: North East London Social Services

Salary: £41.58 (Umbrella)

Job Type: Locum

Contract length: Ongoing

 

Job details: Occupational Therapist required to work across the borough within a Multi-Disciplinary Team. Approximately 4 cases per week will be allocated, comprising a mix of complex and standard Occupational Therapy cases.

 

  •  
    • Excellent knowledge, skills and experience in assessing for and recommending major adaptations and complex equipment, including preparing sketches, reading plans and providing detailed specifications for major works
       

    • Manual handling experience
       

    • Experience working within a multi-professional team, undertaking complex Occupational Therapy, holistic person-centred assessments, support planning and reviews for people with a range of health conditions and their carers, including participation in duty work
       

    • Strong understanding of the legal social care framework and housing legislation
       

    • Experience in managing, planning, prioritising and progressing complex cases
       

    • Experience and knowledge of assessing for and recommending simple and complex equipment, reviewing effectiveness, and teaching safe use of equipment in line with relevant legislation, policy and safe working practice guidelines

     

    Skills/experience: Essential – excellent knowledge of specialist equipment, major adaptations and manual handling. Ability to work autonomously and effectively prioritise and plan workload. Experience working within a multi-disciplinary setting. Professional Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the HCPC. Regular supervision and support will be provided. Flexible working opportunities can be considered.
