View JobReading Borough Council is seeking a compassionate and proactive Qualified Social Worker to join our Child in Need (CIN) team. This role focuses on working with children and families who require additional support to promote safety, well-being, and positive outcomes. You will undertake assessments, develop support plans, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to reduce risk and strengthen families.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough assessments of children and families under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989, identifying needs and risks.

Develop, implement, and review Child in Need plans in partnership with children, families, and other agencies.

Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core groups, and multi-agency meetings as required.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and Reading Council’s policies.
