About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the therapy team at Sunderland Royal Hospital. The post holder will provide high-quality occupational therapy assessment, treatment and advice within an acute hospital setting, working in line with Trust standards and best practice.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide therapy assessment, treatment and advice to a varied caseload using sound clinical reasoning.
- Manage patients with a range of clinical presentations within an acute setting.
- Complete clear, accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust, professional and departmental standards.
- Work towards agreed response time targets.
- Ensure accurate data entry in accordance with departmental requirements.
- Contribute to service improvement and the implementation of evidence-based practice.
- Participate in service delivery and patient pathways in line with clinical standards.
- Maintain ongoing professional development through CPD and self-directed learning.
- Work in accordance with the Trust’s vision, values and behavioural framework.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Previous acute hospital experience (essential).
- Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain further acute experience within a supportive NHS therapy team.
