View JobGateshead Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Social Worker to support Achieving Best Evidence (ABE) interviews and safeguarding processes within Adult Social Care. This specialist role focuses on working with vulnerable adults who may have experienced abuse or neglect, ensuring their voices are heard through trauma-informed, legally compliant interviews and safeguarding interventions.
Key Responsibilities:

Support or lead ABE-compliant interviews in line with Home Office Guidance and inter-agency safeguarding protocols.

Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, ensuring risk is managed and protection plans are implemented.

Work collaboratively with the police, legal teams, and health professionals in complex safeguarding cases.

Assess mental capacity and provide support in best interest decision-making as per the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Maintain thorough, timely records and reports for use in safeguarding meetings, court proceedings, and multi-agency reviews.
