View JobBedford Borough Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker to join their Children’s Services on a locum basis. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner who can lead by example, manage complex cases, and support less experienced colleagues in delivering high-quality social work practice.
Key Responsibilities:

Hold and manage a complex caseload involving Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children.

Lead on complex assessments and care planning to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.

Provide guidance, mentoring, and professional support to less experienced social workers and contribute to team development.

Work closely with multi-agency partners to deliver effective safeguarding and care planning.

Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports for court proceedings, conferences, and reviews.

Ensure practice adheres to legislation, statutory guidance, and Bedford’s local policies and procedures.
