This frontline role is critical in safeguarding children by completing timely assessments and ensuring appropriate intervention pathways. The ideal candidate will be confident in managing risk, making threshold decisions, and engaging with families in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake initial assessments, Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries following new referrals to children’s services.

Make timely, evidence-based decisions on thresholds for intervention and service allocation.

Work closely with families and partner agencies to gather information and assess risk and need.

Develop short-term support plans or refer to ongoing services as appropriate.

Present cases at strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and other multi-agency meetings.

Maintain accurate, high-quality case records in line with Tower Hamlets’ procedures and statutory guidance.
