AfC is seeking an experienced, child?centred Locum Qualified Social Worker to join its busy Child Protection team, safeguarding vulnerable children while promoting their welfare and long?term outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory assessments (Section?17?and Section?47) and progress Child Protection enquiries within required timescales.

Develop and review Child in Need and Child Protection plans, ensuring interventions are evidence?based and outcome?focused.

Prepare high?quality court reports and provide professional evidence in Legal Planning Meetings, PLO, and care proceedings.

Lead and participate in multi?agency meetings, collaborating with health, education, police, and voluntary partners to coordinate safeguarding responses.

Maintain accurate, timely case recordings on AfC’s Liquidlogic system, ensuring all documentation meets statutory and organisational standards.

Contribute to a culture of learning and reflection, engaging in regular supervision and mentoring less?experienced colleagues where appropriate.
