As a Children’s Senior Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex cases, supporting vulnerable children, and mentoring junior colleagues. This role requires a strong commitment to inclusive, child-focused practice and collaborative working within a fast-paced, multi-agency environment.

Lead complex child protection cases, including those requiring legal proceedings, ensuring that children’s safety and wellbeing remain the central focus.

Support and mentor less experienced social workers, providing supervision, guidance, and promoting reflective practice.

Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989 (e.g., Section 17 and Section 47), delivering clear and evidence-based analysis.

Work closely with partner agencies, including schools, health services, and the police, to deliver coordinated safeguarding and support strategies.

Develop and implement outcome-focused care and support plans, tailored to the individual needs of children and families.

Contribute to continuous service improvement, sharing professional expertise, participating in audits, and supporting best practice initiatives within the team.
