View JobWest Berkshire Council is seeking a skilled and committed Qualified Social Worker to join their Child Protection Assessment Team on a locum basis for an initial 3-month contract. The successful candidate will play a vital role in safeguarding children through timely and effective assessments and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake initial and core assessments for children at risk of harm or in need of support.

Carry out Section 47 child protection investigations in line with statutory requirements.

Develop and implement child protection and child in need plans in collaboration with families and professionals.

Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings as required.
-
Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports using the local authority’s systems.
-
Work in accordance with legislative frameworks, local policies, and Social Work England standards.
