View JobWe are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join Havering Council’s Child Protection Team on a 3-month locum contract. This role will involve working with children and families where there are safeguarding concerns, carrying out thorough assessments, and ensuring that appropriate protection and support plans are in place. The successful candidate will have strong assessment, risk analysis, and multi-agency working skills, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake Section 47 enquiries and child protection investigations in line with statutory guidance.

Complete detailed assessments of risk and need to inform decision-making and care planning.

Develop, implement, and review child protection plans to ensure children’s safety and well-being.

Work in partnership with families, carers, and other agencies to provide effective support and intervention.

Prepare high-quality reports for case conferences, legal proceedings, and other statutory meetings.

Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring timely responses and compliance with legislative requirements.
