Job details: Senior Occupational Therapist required to act as a team lead in Trauma & Orthopaedics therapy team to cover vacancy. Key responsibilities are:
- Co-lead and manage the T&O therapy team alongside the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Peer Band 7 Physiotherapist.
- Manage, support and supervise OT staff and support workers.
- Independently manage a complex clinical caseload.
- Assess and treat patients with complex, acute, or chronic conditions.
- Deliver evidence-based OT interventions to improve function and post op delirium.
- Plan and coordinate safe, effective discharge pathways for complex cases.
- Use advanced clinical reasoning for personalised care plans.
- Educate patients, carers, and professionals on OT practices.
- Provide specialist advice and act as a clinical OT resource.
- Manage challenging conversations with patients, their family members and staff behaviours.
- Support junior therapists across all OT domains.
- Apply expert knowledge, especially in #NOF fractures and major trauma guidelines
