Act on behalf of Stoke-on-Trent City Council to lead and manage complex, high-risk cases involving Child Protection, Looked After Children, and court proceedings, ensuring statutory duties are met.

Provide expert practice leadership, mentoring, and supervision to social workers and senior practitioners, fostering reflective, strengths-based, and child-centred approaches.

Conduct and quality-assure complex assessments, care planning, and safeguarding enquiries, ensuring timely, evidence-based interventions that prioritise children’s safety and wellbeing.

Lead multi-agency safeguarding meetings and best interest decision-making processes, coordinating effective partnership working across health, education, legal, and voluntary sectors.

Contribute to service improvement and quality assurance, including case audits, practice reviews, and implementation of policy and procedural changes within Children’s Services.

Support operational management by assisting in team performance monitoring, workforce development, and service planning to enhance outcomes for children and families in Stoke-on-Trent.
